A licensed customs broker prepares and files documentation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to facilitate legal importation of goods, in accordance with 19 CFR Part 111. Brokers act on behalf of importers to ensure entries are transmitted accurately and efficiently.
Yes. We operate as a neutral brokerage and regularly partner with freight forwarders and 3PLs that do not maintain in-house brokerage capabilities.
Yes. We process entries for goods arriving from all international origins and can clear shipments at any U.S. port or airport through Remote Location Filing (RLF), as authorized under 19 CFR §§143.41–143.46. RLF allows licensed brokers to transmit and clear entries electronically at any port, saving time and reducing storage or demurrage costs.
Customs Bonds are financial guarantees required by U.S. Customs under 19 CFR Part 113 to facilitate the import process. We help arrange Continuous Bonds, Single Entry Transaction Bonds, and ISF Stand-Alone Bonds to ensure proper coverage for import activities. While Blufenix assists with bond setup and management, the importer of record retains final responsibility under 19 CFR §141.32.
HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification determines duty rates and regulatory requirements under 19 CFR §141.86. While we provide recommendations based on importer-supplied data, the importer of record remains responsible for final classification decisions, as required by 19 CFR §141.86(b). Proper classification ensures compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and accurate calculation of duties.
Yes, we also clear goods that must be approved by additional PGAs which can be complex, such as the FWL, FDA, USDA, DOT, EPA, FCC, and others before they can clear Customs.
